Rolls-Royce brass oiler n.40 produced by the historic company Joseph Lucas Ltd. of Birmingham around 1920, with registered patent n. 673314.
The object, beautifully made and in excellent condition considering its age, was included in the tool kit and its use was detailed in the manual supplied with the Rolls-Royce cars such as the Twenty and Silver Ghost. The n.40 oiler was used until the late 1920s when the first centralized lubrication systems began to be fitted to Rolls-Royces in 1927.
