Rolls-Royce, Permanent Match Lighter in the shape of a Radiator with mascot, Sprit of Ecstasy
Rolls-Royce, Permanent Match lighter in chromed metal as the famous radiator of British cars, in chromed metal. Vintage.
Some books dedicated to the history of Rolls-Royce of America also give particular prominence to the radiator, an integral and characterizing part of the historic British-American cars, which like them, over time have had their history and technical and style evolution. The radiator of the Rolls-Royce has always been inspired by the classic Greek style and, on the "Springfield Rolls-Royce" it was with horizontal partialized shutters from 1922 to 1925. Towards the end of 1929 beginning of the 30s, the radiator became with shutters vertical opening in one direction only and connected to a thermostatic valve. On the latest American Rolls-Royces, fake blades were also added to the radiator to make it taller and more slender, just like the radiator reproduced by the "Permanent Match" lighter.
