* CLASSIFICATION OF THE CONSERVATION STATUS OF ADVERTISING POSTERS

CONDITION A: Indicates a poster in excellent condition. The colors are fresh and there is no lack in the paper. There may also be some small holes or very slight creases, but of marginal interest. A+ concerns posters that rarely appear on the market, in a state of conservation as if they had just left the printer. A- the poster may have some very slight creases, bubbles or stains of dirt, all of very little relevance.

CONDITION B : Indicates a poster in good condition. May have some minor paper loss, but not in crucial parts of the image. In the case of restorations, they are marginal and not immediately evident. The margins and colors are good although some yellowing may be present. B+ indicates a poster in very good condition. B- indicates a poster in fairly good condition albeit with some defects or minor restorations.

CONDITION C : Indicates a poster in fair condition. Yellowings may be evident, restorations, folds or tears are immediately visible and there may be some defects in the paper. The poster remains, however, intact in its crucial image and colors.

CONDITION D : Indicates a poster in poor condition. Much of the poster may be missing, including important areas of the image, and/or the colors are so faint that the artist's work is difficult to interpret.
