Fiat Abarth, Solido die-cast metal model Fiat-Abarth Monoposto Pininfarina Ref. 124 year 1964 1:43 scale.

Abarth was founded in 1949 in Bologna by the engineer and ex-driver Carlo Abarth and the racing driver Guido Scagliarini, when the engineer Abarth decided to take over Cisitalia, a Turin-based automotive company in economic difficulties, originally born as a sports team specializing in the creation of small-engine sports cars built on the basis of existing cars. The talent and intuition of the Italian-Austrian engineer soon directed Abarth to the production of sports mufflers for some brands, such as, for example, Porsche, FIAT, Lancia, Alfa Romeo, Autobianchi and SIMCA as well as the creation of tuning kits for cars utility cars such as the Topolino, for example, Kits that greatly improved the performance of the cars and above all were accessible to everyone given their low cost. The sporting successes of Abarth were not long in coming, successes that have allowed Abarth to have a rapid expansion also abroad and to obtain numerous records, today they are 133. In 1960 the Abarth Monoposto Pininfarina was presented, a car single-seater designed to break any type of record and is the result of engineering studies also carried out in the wind tunnel of the Turin Polytechnic, studies that will lead to the creation of a car 4.56 meters long, 1.55 meters wide and just 1 2 meters and powered by a 1.0-litre engine capable of delivering a power of around 115 hp which allowed the single-seater to obtain important speed records, such as, for example, the average speed record exceeding 200 km/h in the span of 12 hours. The model is the exact reproduction of the Abarth Monoposto Pininfarina, holder of numerous records.
