Morris Die-Cast Corgi Mini-Cooper S No. 37 Monte-Carlo BMC, winner of the 1966 Monte-Carlo Rally, ref. 317, 1:43 scale.

The Mini was a British car produced from 1959 to 2000 by the British Motor Company, a company born in 1952 from the merger of Austin and the Nueffild Group which held, among others, the Morris brand. The years in which the Mini project was developed were marked by the Suez Canal crisis and the consequent rise in fuel prices and the increasingly growing sale of micro cars to the detriment of the more well-known small cars, led the top management of the British car manufacturer to production of what would later prove to be a global style icon and beyond. The Morris Mini-Cooper "S" is in fact also known for its famous victories in some of the most important car races in the world such as, for example, the 1964 Monte Carlo Rally, when car no. 37 was driven by British pilot Paddy Hopkirk.
