Official race documentation of the XVth Rallye International du Maroc 26 - 29 April 1972 - A piece of motorsport history.
Here is a true time capsule for rally enthusiasts: the official and complete documentation of the XV° Rallye International du Maroc, held from April 26-29, 1972. This lot, in excellent general condition despite the years, belonged to the crew G. Gaffier - J.P. Guillon, who participated aboard a SIMCA 1100S.
The Rallye International du Maroc is a legendary event, a pioneer of the World Rally Championship. The 1972 edition, in particular, was a stage of the "International Championship for Manufacturers (ICM)", which the following year would become the WRC we know today. This year saw victory for Lampinen-Andreasson on a Lancia Fulvia HF Coupé 1.6 from the Lancia HF Squadra Corse, and the participation of names that would make history: Thierry Sabine (founder of the Dakar Rally) on a Porsche 911 and Jean Todt on a Peugeot 504.
The lot includes a unique collection of original documents, essential for participation:
-
Two driving licenses from the Federation Française du Sport Automobile (national and international licenses).
-

-
