The World Rally Championship (WRC) is the world rally championship established by the International Automobile Federation (FIA) since 1973 when the International Trademark Championship (CIM) was still held. The competition was organized by the FIA from 1970 to 1972 to give the title to the car manufacturers who would take part in the Rally races. In 1970 the CIM title was won by Porsche with the 911 S , in '71 won the Alpine with the A110 and in 1972 the Lancia won with the Fulvia 1.6 HP driven among others by Sergio Munari, ahead of the Fiat 124 Sport Spider.
