Matchbox, Gift Set Regular Wheels No. G 6 Truck Set
Lensney Products & Co. was an English company founded in 1947 in Tottenham by the homonymous Leslie Smith (Les) and Rodney (Ney) Smith, operating in the industrial die-casting sector, to which a third partner, William Odell, was later added. Sales, unfortunately, were not as hoped and, so, during the Christmas period of 1947, Lesney produced toys based on Dinky Toys, a steam roller and a cement mixer, the two models had a huge success which prompted the English company to only produce toys from then on. The Matchbox brand, introduced only in 1954, replaced the Moko Lesney brand used for the distribution of Lesney products until 1959. The name Matchbox was chosen because the first models were sold in boxes identical to those of matches, matchboxes which in English it is called "Matchbox". The company experienced flourishing years that led it to become one of the major producers of die-cast toys but with the then revolutionary introduction of the Hotwheels, the company suffered a serious crisis that led it to bankruptcy. Today the Matchbox brand belongs to the American toy giant Mattel.

Models in perfect condition, intact and complete with all parts and accessories, with original box with signs of aging and original plastic coating but with evident signs of aging, added scotch tape and some pieces of the plastic coating missing. All clearly visible from the photographs.

A=Excellent with only the slightest fault.
B=Very good but with some signs of wear.
C=Good but with evident wear.
D=Nice but maybe with some missing parts.
E=Suitable for restoration only.
Note Well!
Some older toys never came with boxes. The "Gift Boxes" are much more valuable than other boxes.
