Lagonda was a British automobile manufacturer founded in 1906 and independent until 1947 when it was acquired by Aston Martin. The first car produced by Lagonda was the Lagonda 20 HP in 1907, while the Lagonda LG6 is a high-end car produced from 1937 to 1940.
Mercedes-Benz is today the brand name used for cars produced by the German automotive company Mercedes-Benz AG, founded in 2019 when Daimler AG, owner of the Mercedes-Benz brand, decided to create two distinct and autonomous companies, one dealing with passenger cars and commercial vehicles and the other with industrial vehicles and buses; this transition was completed in 2022 with the definitive creation of Mercedes Benz Group for passenger cars and commercial vehicles and Daimler Truck & Buses for industrial vehicles and buses. Mercedes-Benz was originally founded in 1926 by the merger of Gottlieb Daimler's Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft and Karl Benz's Benz & Cie, father of the automobile with the Patent Motorwagen. The name Mercedes, on the other hand, is linked to the daughter of the Austrian importer of Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft, Emil Jellinek, who from 1898 used the name Mercedes as an auspicious sign for the sales of German cars and also because it was easier and more elegant to remember than Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft; the "Mercedes" cars used by Jellinek to participate in car races also bore the name Mercedes on the front, and the numerous victories achieved by the Austrian importer allowed him to gain considerable popularity and to order about 40 racing cars on the condition that they were called Mercedes. Despite the reluctance of the Stuttgart company's management to participate in races, the order was respected, and the name Mercedes is still used today. The Mercedes-Benz W29, commonly known as the 540 K, is a high-end car produced by Mercedes-Benz from 1936 to 1940.
Hispano-Suiza was one of the most famous Spanish automobile manufacturers active from 1904 to 1938 and always known for producing luxury cars. The first car produced by the Spanish car manufacturer was the Hispano-Suiza 20 HP presented along with the 40 HP at the Paris Motor Show in 1907. The Hispano-Suiza H6C Nieuport Tulipwood Torpedo, better known as the Dubonnet Tulipwood, is a super-luxury racing car created from the idea of the aeronautical and automobile pilot André Dubonnet, who in 1923 purchased an Hispano-Suiza H6B-Boulogne chassis on which a torpedo body was then built using precious magnolia wood known as Tulipwood.
