Mercedes-Benz, brochures, photographs, technical documentation and price list of the fittings made by the historic Belgian company "Carat by Duchatelet" specialized in luxury fittings for cars, limousines and off-road vehicles, year 1985. The official and original documentation comes from the private collection of a well-known journalist, radio and book author and for many years responsible for Éditions Alpha, which later became Éditions Atlas.
Mercedes-Benz is the commercial brand used for cars produced by the German car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz AG born in 2019 and originally founded in 1926 from the merger of the Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft companies of Gottlieb Daimler and the Benz & Cie of Karl Benz, father of the automobile with the Patent Motorwagen. The name Mercedes is instead linked to the daughter of the Austrian importer of Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft, Emil Jellinek who since 1898 used the name Mercedes as an omen for the sales of German cars and also because it was easier and more elegant to remember than Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft; the "Mercedes" used by Jellinek to participate in car races also reported the Mercedes writing on the nose and the numerous victories obtained by the Austrian importer allowed him to acquire considerable popularity and to order about 40 racing cars on condition that they were called, though, Mercedes. Despite the opposition of the Stuttgart top management for participation in the tenders, the order was respected and the Mercedes name is still used today.
Carat by Duchatelet is a well-known Belgian company founded in Liège in 1968 by Frédéric Duchatelet, still active and today a world leader in the construction of special vehicles. The sedans, limousines and off-road vehicles created by the outfitter Carat Duchatelet represent, in fact and have always been, the maximum in terms of safety, exclusivity, comfort and technical excellence that are unique in the automotive sector.
The documentation relates to the main models produced by Mercedes-Benz in 1985, the Mercedes-Benz W126, the W201 and the W124, it is made on quality paper and consists of n. 5 black and white photographs, technical documentation with description and black and white photographs, price list, brochures and other information relating to Carat by Duchatelet products. French language, excellent general conditions are, however, present some signs of aging as clearly visible from the photographs.
